O Antiphons, part V

Today's antiphon is O Oriens.

Latin:
O Oriens,
splendor lucis aeternae
et sol justitiae:
veni, et illumina
sedentes in tenebris
et umbra mortis.

English translation:
O Dawn,
splendor of eternal light
and sun of justice:
come and shine on those
seated in darkness
and in the shadow of death.

English paraphrase from "O Come, O Come Emmanuel":
O come, O Dayspring from on high
And cheer us by your drawing night;
Disperse the gloomy clouds of night,
And death's dark shadow put to flight.
